Bungie Has ‘No Plans’ to Bring Raid Matchmaking to Destiny

A busy livestream has brought a whole lot of Destiny 2 news today. Bungie announced the next expansion, named Beyond Light, for launch in September. Today they also start the next season, named Season Of Arrivals, and launch a new dungeon. Beyond Light. It will introduce the new area of Europa, an icy moon of Jupiter. Darkness, Exos, mysterious Clovis Bray connections?

Destiny Needs Matchmaking Whether Bungie Agrees or Not

For my money, Destiny is a good, arguably great game. I reviewed it here , giving it four stars, and still feel the same. In my review I pointed out some of my concerns, which were based on over 25 hours of play, completion of the story, tons of co-op and PvP, and early expansion past the level 20 cap. Ad — content continues below. And yes, this is a lot of opinion, but opinion that comes from a very large player base.

Destiny 2 > General Discussions > Topic Details Instead of asking for raid matchmaking – an idea that will never come to pass outside of with 4 random people it wouldn’t be harder then nightfall ordeal on hero difficulty, With VOG coming in I would hate to see the, 1 item per encounter, persist.

Yeah, Bungie keeps saying they addressed the grind, but everything I’ve seen so far says the grind is worse than it was in vanilla Destiny. The thing I don’t get about the argument against matchmaking is those same people will tell you to find a group on LFG.

How is someone I messaged once and now joined up with any different than matchmaking with a random person? They are both strangers and both random to an extent. There is no reason why matchmaking as an option shouldn’t be in the game for every mode.

Conquer Destiny’s most rewarding raid with our Vault of Glass guide [updated 1/14/2015]

Across Destiny and Destiny 2, Bungie has delivered 10 raids, each with their own quirks, themes, and memorable moments. The short platforming stint gets interesting when you introduce the optional objective of making sure a ball makes it all the way to end, but is too short and lacks the visual flair to stand as a good breather from the action. The last two fights are surprisingly nuanced, however, with a number of different phases and sequences which teams must work through in order to succeed.

The layering of multiple elements works well and still makes for some rewarding moments, but the familiarity of its encounters as well as its loot being recolored versions of the Eater of Worlds sets make it the raid we ran the least. Kicking things off with a platforming segment is a bold move, but the focus on making sure everyone is in the right spot at the right time instead of having each player conquer the challenge on their own is a step forward.

Shooting things in Destiny is fun in and of itself, but expectations for how that shooting is contextualized are a bit higher.

Matchmaking aint a problem. Theres a site called Best way to find a group. IMO lvl 26 raid is just fine, but the lvl 30 hard mode.

With Destiny in the drive there was no way anything else was ever going to get played so I’ve bitten the bullet and sold it. Last edited: Oct 6, So VOG is too difficult to be done by random’s eh?

I would put money on hard mode being done by Christmas by a some sort of so called uber team with some other restriction on them, 3, 4 or 5 man teams, or some sort of other way to make it harder for them. It happens every single time this sort of game comes out. Just because it is hard now when the game has been out for a month, doesn’t mean it still will be in the not too distant future.

ELI5: How is having matchmaking for Destiny’s raids a bad thing?

Check the ‘About’ section to find out more Now with Elite Division for level 30’s! If you’re looking for players on the xbox then this is where you’ll find them, or at least where you should all go so that there are xbox players to find! Don’t worry level 26’s’s there is a casual division for you guys too, it’s the whole group! Thank you for your time, Helmboi out. Play nice.

Destiny to get matchmaking for Heroic Weekly Strikes to play with two other people even without a group — the latter two still do not have matchmaking but as always, Bungie is “looking into it. VOG is harder than Crota.

Randoms can’t comprehend mechanics of the Corrupted strikes or even most of the heroic events. Blind Wells? Forget about it, you might as well be on your own. Furthermore, randoms can’t even complete Menagerie objectives at times – objectives that are quite literally written out for them.

Can I enjoy Destiny without a group of friends?

July I just started getting back into the game, no DLC yet – waiting for the package with everything. I did go from level 21 when I put the game down before to 27 at the moment. Despite not being to do the Weekly Heroic Strikes to get strange coins, I’m 1 coin away from being able to afford some 13 coin item from Xur next weekend.

Bungie Has ‘No Plans’ to Bring Raid Matchmaking to Destiny energy shards, refined raid loot drops, and primary weapons exclusive to the raid’s hard mode.

Activision loves destiny’s April update and is promising more consistent content. Glad they’re acknowledging this need. The only thing is that lots of people already have a team that they do raids with,so to add matchmaking to them would kidda make it worse cause you would have all these people that have no idea what there doing. So if you used it you would be in a lobby of people, hoping that they will get carryed buy others of a higher light which is not fun.

I too agree with the raid matchmaking That’s why you would have to make it like any MMO and give the player the ability to choose match making or not. Bungie and Activision create this fps MMO and yet they refuse to let the player choose who they play, they have to control every aspect of the play. I would like to be able to attempt to solo strikes. I think their so be an option when you start a strike whether you want to solo or match make, just like their should be with the raids.

Personally though I think they need to invest some time and money into their servers. I should not be getting “disconnected” at all, I have a 90 mbs Internet speed and a 15 mbs upload speed. And I connect to my xbox one with an ethernet cable straight from my router. So there is no way that it is my connection.

Destiny: Moon’s Haunted

Although we’ve dealt with chest locations as we encountered them earlier in the guide, we thought it would be nice to list them all on a single page for easy consumption. This is that page. We will also list the things you can obtain from the Raid, because we’re nice. Chest 1 – After opening the Vault. The first chest in the Vault of Glass is incredibly easy to find.

After playing it and getting an on my fist run, I have some thoughts about how antithetical this content is with respect to competition. While I can appreciate the approach and idea, the entire setup runs against what most people would consider a fair competition. But there are factors that make it feel backwards within the idea of PVP. But when we went up against more skilled teams it just became a boring waiting game of camping corners.

One of the best points raised was that the good gear and experience of veteran PVP players needs a context to shine. I completely agree with this and think that the Iron Banner should serve this purpose and add more things and methods similar to the way Trials of Osiris works. This post is about how I think charging people money for DLC and then basically holding a lot of the new gear hostage due to narrow accessibility is a bad business decision by Bungie.

Regardless of what anyone tries to say, there are weapons that are factually and at this point even statistically proven to be better than the rest. It is basically an objective and undeniable reality that the Thorn is arguably the best PVP weapon. This is, in my opinion, part of a larger problem, and within the realm of the Trials of Osiris it creates a significant slant on the battlefield.

I told someone on my stream today that slanting the battlefield in the favor of people with stronger guns is, by definition, unfair. The real problem I have with this is that you are charging people for content and then making the entry points to the new gear unfair and slanted. The big point of disagreement on my stream yesterday was that making good gear challenging to get is a good thing, which I completely agree with.

My point has been that the Trials of Osiris has numerous mechanics that make it inaccessible.

Destiny’s raid has been the source of much joy and frustration among players , players have attempted the Raid on Hard And yet, I’m still convinced the Raid needs matchmaking, both in-game and out of game.
